Broccolini and Pasta

without comments

2 good size batches of broccolini ( about 2 handfuls around the stems )
4 cloves garlic, grated
1/2 cup olive oil
1/4 cup grated romano, parmesan or a combination of the two
1 pound bow tie or spiral pasta

Slice the broccolini
Boil the broccolini till almost tender, strain but keep the water
Boil the pasta till done in the same water you boiled the broccolini

In a skillet put oil, garlic, broccolini and cook over medium heat until broccolini is tender

Mix pasta, broccolini mix, and cheese in a large bowl and serve.

Broccolini is a cross between broccoli and Chinese kale. It has a bit more bite to it than regular broccoli. The leaves should be cut up and cooked with the broccolini.
