Chicken Chow Mein

Chow Mein means ‘fried noodles’. Here in the US we make the Chinese Chicken Chow Mein with out noodles and serve it over the crunchy noodles that are available in the Foreign Food Section of your supermarket.

~3/4 lb of chicken diced or sliced small in a food processor
1 Tablespoon oil ( I used olive )
1 clove garlic grated/shredded
1/2 cup chicken stock
1 1/2 Tablespoon oyster sauce ( available in the oriental section of the supermarket)
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 bunch celery diced fine
1 yellow or sweet onion diced fine
1 bag or jar bean sprouts (~8oz)

Fry the chicken in the oil and garlic and set aside
Fry the celery and onion till clear
Now toss all the ingredients into a large skillet and heat over a low heat until the liquid is reduced by half.

Serve over dried, crunchy chow mein noodles.
